Our goal is to provide universities, libraries, cultural, and research institutions with the conditions they need to work, develop, and integrate into the global academic community.
URAN is part of GÉANT, the pan-European research and education network connecting over 10,000 academic institutions. This opens the door to international recognition and makes it easier to apply for European funding programmes such as Horizon Europe or Erasmus+.

What we provide — and what no one else does
The unique instruments of our orchestra:
- eduroam — global Wi-Fi roaming. You can access the internet at any institution with eduroam in Europe, Ukraine, and worldwide. That’s over 33,000 access points (184 in Ukraine).
- eduGAIN — single sign-on. Like a universal ticket to hundreds of educational and research resources worldwide: academic journals, databases, clouds, and infrastructures.
- Access to high-speed research networks, including LHCONE (CERN), gravitational wave detectors (LIGO, VIRGO), meteorological satellites (EUMETSAT), and Earth observation satellites (Copernicus). These resources are not available via ordinary commercial channels. They open the way to participation in global scientific research.
- Partnership in the European academic community — participation in GÉANT events: conferences, workshops, thematic groups. These are not just events but regular exchanges of experience, joint initiatives, and active dialogue between institutions facing similar challenges.
- Support and assistance — technical, advisory, and, in special moments, even humanitarian. Like when we helped the evacuated Kherson National Technical University set up in its new location, or delivered laptops to institutions affected by the war.
What about typical provider services?
Yes, we also provide internet connectivity, IP addresses, VPN, hosting, and domain names. But in a different context.
- We guarantee stable bandwidth.
- We offer route redundancy.
- We protect against cyberattacks.
- Once connected to our network, we stay by your side, provide ongoing support — and step in when something goes wrong.
Most importantly, we tailor our solutions to your situation instead of offering a one-size-fits-all package. URAN doesn’t just sell a service — we create a joint solution that grows with your institution.

URAN’s services are not free. We have costs: maintaining infrastructure, developing services, and providing support.
At the same time, we understand the budget constraints of our users, so we look for solutions together. Our services are flexible — we adapt to your institution’s capabilities and real needs, offering a tailored package that fits you.
You can — and should — discuss your concerns and limitations with us. We are on your side and ready to find the most effective ways to work together.
